Where did the last couple of months go? I confess my attention has been distracted lately with renovating a tiny ‘trullo’ house in Italy. It’s nearly, nearly ready and we are planning to spend Christmas there this year.
We’re well into autumn and sales of trouserslips is picking up after mostly sales of the shorter length trouserslips, french knickers and camisole tops through the summer. A red top and shorts set in limited quantities has been made ready for Christmas, which, the builder keeps reminding me, is only a few weeks away now.
It’s been about a year since Julia sent her email saying she was retiring, it feels like longer! The new branding, packaging buying and new website and systems were relatively painless, but my idea to have a larger range of product has been a slow process.
I want to introduce silk dressing gowns and had thought about a wool or wool and cashmere cardi to wear over camisole tops for loungewear or out, but I do like to be able to make things myself and I’m not sure about the latter. I’ve been trying to make a long sleeve silk top for under itchy jumpers, but the sleeves are proving to be problematic so these may not materialise.
With regard to offcuts, we are using these to make silk eye masks; apparently, they’re great for wrinkles, but I’m not sure they reverse ‘laughter lines’ as I like to call mine! Very comfortable to sleep in though.
Let me know what you think or if there’s any item or changes you’d like to see in the range.
